Moving an 8-Tonne Dozer Blade to Yarrabilba in our Heavy Lift Truck - WS25

The job: a blade and draft arms for a D10 Dozer

The parts belonged to a D10 dozer, one of the true heavyweights you'll find on an earthmoving site. The blade alone weighs around 8 tonnes. The draft arms are the heavy steel arms that connect the blade to the machine and take the force when it pushes.

These aren't parts you can throw on the back of any truck. They're big, awkwardly shaped and expensive. And while they're off the machine, the dozer isn't working, so getting them there safely and on time really matters.

Getting it there and back into place

Steven loaded up WS25 with the D10 Dozer Blade and made the run from Nerang out to Yarrabilba. Once on site, he set up with the stabilisers down, giving the truck a solid footing on the open ground.

Steven worked alongside the crew to get the blade and draft arms off the truck and installed back onto the D10. By the end of the day the machine was back together and ready to get back to work. All in all, what a day.

When you're moving heavy machinery parts, the drive is only half the story. The other half is what happens when the load arrives and needs to go exactly where it belongs.
